The Mirror Pools provide some of the most stunning views in the area; a sequence of naturally occurring pools reflecting the sky with amazing clarity. Mineral-rich water fills these small depressions in the limestone surface, which becomes quite calm and produces ideal reflections of the surrounding environment and sky. The pools range in depth and size; some show varied colours because of the different minerals and microorganisms. Sunrise and sunset are the ideal viewing periods since the changing light produces amazing double pictures of the colours of the sky. While the mineral deposits around the pools generate interesting foreground elements for compositions, the nearby rock structures offer great vantage points for photographing these natural mirrors.
