The majesty connected with old monarchy is wonderfully captured in the magnificent setting with an enormous monument and luxurious royal bed. This specific series shows the ability of contemporary visual effects to recreate ancient magnificence almost difficult to reach with conventional set design. Although big decorative sculptures still abound in our contemporary society, their logistics for inclusion on a film set—especially in relation to an ancient palace environment—would be quite difficult and expensive. By using digital effects, the directors were able to precisely depict the historical period while keeping artistic control over every visual element, therefore enabling a sense of size and grandeur. By means of seamless integration of CGI features with pragmatic set pieces, old royal luxury is convincingly shown that would be practically difficult to accomplish using traditional filmmaking techniques.
