6. Circulation-Boosting Methods

Although you should keep good circulation all year round, each season calls for various strategies. To generate blood flow, start with fast tapping motions with your fingertips throughout the whole foot. Using the sides of your hands, advance to percussion techniques adjusting the intensity depending on the season: lighter in summer when circulation is naturally better, firmer in winter when it requires more stimulation. To promote blood flow, gently twist the tissues while you "wring" motions along the foot's arch. Finish with quick friction movements with your palms to increase circulation all around the foot and create warmth.
